Rear axle RPO code G01

I was pulling the brake assembly and steering column out of an 85 Custom Deluxe today. I'm kinda sorta looking for another rear end to go in my 86, if I just happen to run across a good one while doing the LS swap. I checked the SPID and the RPO code was G01-Rear Axle-Standard. It could be GQ1, but I think it's G01. What would Standard refer to? I'm assuming I wouldn't be lucky enough for this to be a 3:73 or 4:10 posi unit.

Nope, you're not lucky enough. No G01 code that I could find. But I quickly stopped looking when I saw this:

As far as - what is the Standard Ratio? IDK.

But, because there are quite a few 3.73 rear axles listed (none of which were mentioned as being Standard), it would be safe to assume that Standard does not equate to a 3.73 gear ratio.

Here the link to a good, complete listing of RPO codes:

Re: Rear axle RPO code G01

I'm thinking it's 3.42 because 3.42 was very common, and it's not on the list.

Re: Rear axle RPO code G01

It's GQ1 = standard ratio.

I need to know what trans in order to tell what ratio that was, but it's going to be either 2.73, 3.08, 3.42 or 3.73.

If an optional ratio was chosen the SPID will show the actual RPO and description (ie, GU6 = 3.42; GT4 = 3.73). For a base axle it only shows the RPO as GQ1, since it varies.

Re: Rear axle RPO code G01

From the chart above, looks like it's a 2.73. Well the search continues.
