Cool speedometer troubles, help please

OK, me being the "can't leave well enough alone kind of person." I attempted to fix my speedometer which is actually the odometer that wasn't working at all in the suburban...took the needle off can't get it back on. Took out the mileage and trip sprayed it with wd40 assuming it was stuck not realizing it is more than likely an electrical issue going on. Can't tell if speedometer is still working because can't put needle back. Odometer and trip are still not working at all. As always thanks in advance for all advice.

Been to all the nearby pull parts, no luck with finding one. Anyone on here fixes/rebuilds these things?

Don't give up. Help is on the way. I don't know from whence it will come but it's coming.

Do a search on http://car-part.com/

The 90-91 RV series Pickup, Suburban, & K5 electronic instrument clusters are a bit harder to find than the earlier units.
I did a quickie search and pulled up 5. All of em were CALL FOR PRICE. What that means to me is... "We don't have the balls to actually post the price we want because it's embarrassingly rude." or "We want to gauge what kind of rube we are talking to so we can set the price accordingly."
Make no mistake... real salvage folks are Carnies and they can spot a mark just as quick as the Carnies manning the midway games.

Re: speedometer troubles, help please

So, when you removed the needle, did you pull it straight up or did it break off somehow?

Can you put the needle back on but just not in the right position?

Got the needle back on, still not working which continues my run of good luck lol! Speedometer is no longer working. Gone to junk yards and put in a lot of calls looking for a electric cluster no luck.
