Brake Hoses

I am in the process of doing the front brakes for my GMC, because one of the rubber brake hoses blew out at the wheel, and I figured it was probably time to do them anyway. the hoses were pretty dry rotted, so it was way past time. But the parts guy at Napa says they do not make the rubber brake hoses any more. What should I do? Will hoses for something else work, or should I have custom ones made up? any ideas would be appreciated. Oh yeah, its a 3/4 ton 4x4 with front drums.

Yea, I have the same problem. I found some stainless braded lines, but could not find a rubber replacement. Let me know if you find some.
Thanks

I just did the front flexible lines and hard lines
for my 69 C10 P/U and I got the flexible lines
from Autozone. I don't know if the lines for the
GMC are different, but I would certainly check
into it.

thanks guys

thanks guys...

I will check autozone wxman, if not I will probably get some braided steel lines, I am sure a lot of places make them to dress up engine bays and for nitrous, etc. They would be overkill, but would look damn sweet IMO.

Oh yeah, I also need to replace one of my front hard lines, the one that runs from bulkhead to bulkhead, I was loosening it and I swear I had it good, but the F**king thing bent and snapped. That should be easy to fix, Napa has a lot of hard line.

I bought one for my 1/2 ton GMC last summer at Advance auto. It was about 12 bucks, and the part number crossed over to be the same as on the one ton longhorn chevy.
I think possably NAPA just stopped carrying them. I have come across this more than once with my local NAPA.

Some one handed them a ciggaweed or something. That is unreal.
At least you found them cheap elsewhere.

1969 GMC,
Would you provide me with the manufacturer and the part number when you confirm they are correct?
Thanks
Erl

I have purchased the OEM rubber lines from In-Line Tube. Not
sure, but think it was approx $90.00 for all three rubber lines
(two fronts, one rear)....the matched up identical to what I removed
only they're new of course.
