Fluids Recommendations
I have recommended various chemicals, fluids and lubricants in my posts, and someone asked me to put them all together in one thread. So here is what I recommend for various uses. Yeah, it's one man's opinion, but it's for people who need or want the info. If you already know what you like, then you don't need my recommendations.
Sources: 1) Auto parts stores, 2) Amazon, 3) skygeek.com Non-load-bearing grease for hinges, door latches, tailgate latch and hinges, pedal pivots, bellcranks, window crank mechs, etcetcetc: Lubriplate White Lithium Grease Load-bearing grease for wheel bearings, U-joints: TRC 880 Crown & Chassis Grease Rust preventative self-spreading coating to spray in doors, rockers, cab corners, tailgate: ACF-50 Penetrating lubricant for removing rusted hardware, as well as lubricating hard to get at things like hood hinges: Silikroil Rust remover for re-using old parts: EvapoRust (immerse parts overnight and then wash the rust off; non-corrosive) For removing paint: Aircraft paint remover (any brand) (aircraft have very thin skins, so they need a powerful paint remover that you don't have to scrub at or you will bend the metal. This is the real deal -- very strong -- do NOT use indoors!) Auto trans fluid: Full synthetic ATF (reduces trans temperatures) Power Steering fluid: Full Synthetic P/S fluid (reduces steering effort, especially at idle) Engine oil: Mobil1 10W30 Engine oil additive for flat-tappet cam engines: 1 bottle of ZDDPPlus per oil change

Re: Fluids Recommendations
Forgot one:
For sealing valve covers so they don't leak: Tite Seal, medium weight. (Apply very thin layer to both sides of gasket, valve cover flange, and engine mating surface. Surfaces must be clean; use lacquer thinner. Tite Seal needs to be rubbed into each surface a bit to get a good bond. Non-hardening.)
