Re: wheel width question on bagged 63
I need to know if anyone has experience with a 20x8.5 and clearance problems if any. 63 with bags and front disc swap, pocketed lower control arms.

Quote:
8 inches wide with 4.5 backspace is the same as a 0 offset. you didnt list an offset or backspace on the 20x8.5 wheel in your second post.

Re: wheel width question on bagged 63
I'm running 20x8.5 with 4.5 backspace and 245/35 on the front of my 63 bagged with cupped LCA, you will have to cut inner fenders trim your fenders and lose the hood spring. Other than that no clearance problems.

Re: wheel width question on bagged 63
Ok so I have found some wheels I think im going to just say **** it and buy.. im getting an ulcer trying to figure out the perfect offset and bs.
So mob steel tells me 20x8 with 4.5 backspace is common on these trucks, I seen people running the 22x9 steel transit wheels and those are 6" backspace. Ive seen everything from 0 to +25 offset and they seem to not have any issues. Soo im going boss 330 in a 22x9 with +20 offset. Does anyone see an issue with these? Anyone have experience with anything close to this? |

Re: wheel width question on bagged 63
Forestb makes a good point go to a forum thread with bagged trucks and find the look you want and just ask. I have had LOTS AND LOTS of questions and seems EVERY guy on here is glad to offer help or tell you where you can find it.
NOW as far as Nate and Dave at Porterbuilt have you emailed or called to ask advice? I have bought what seems like about one of everything they make for a 66. And one main reason I did was because.. they went WAY above and Beyond with customer service even BEFORE I spent a dime. Both of them are always busy but have never not answered the phone or returned my calls even when I seemed to ask the same questions over and over and the same ones everybody else was asking. Nate and Dave are both are to me the best in the business in the products they sell and with customer service.. soooooo.. in short just ask.. |

Re: wheel width question on bagged 63
I have a bagged 63 with 22-9.5 with +10mm offset, the fenders are trimmed , no hinges , I ordered a set of arms to narrow the track width an inch so I would do a wheel with 20mm and up

Re: wheel width question on bagged 63
I bought the gm 22x9 transport wheels. The front fit perfect, I will have to remove the inner fenders and trim the fenders about 1/4 inch. I bored the center of the rear wheels to make them hub centric and im running 1/4" spacer and they fit perfect m no trimming or modifications needed to the truck.
