Help switching from 2BB to Quadrajet??
My buddy has a 2bbl 350 on a 70 c10. Like to know all the parts needed to do the swap. I have a 4bbl quadrajet manifold I am giving him. What else does he need?
Which Quadrajet do we use?? Thanks

Re: Help switching from 2BB to Quadrajet??
It's been a while for me, so I can't remember exactly what besides the manifold and carb have to change - just compare the linkages and you should be OK.
As for the Quadrajet, go with a later-model Quadrajet with the electric choke. It will make setting it up easier and they're very dependable. |

RTV, gaskets, air cleaner/base, 3/8 fuel line/fitting, choke/power or linkage or tubes..
don't get the E4MC/E Qjet with the elec plugs on the top and front.. one like this would work, has a hot air choke http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rochester-Qu...item20f75378d3 call him and ask, he can change the choke to elec.. http://stores.ebay.com/Mountain-Man-...=p4634.c0.m322

For electric choke, can we just run a wire to a 12 v wire to the fuse box?

throw the Quadrajunk away and get a throttle body fuel injection. Less hassel, better fuel management and MPG.

Re: Help switching from 2BB to Quadrajet??
kick down depends on what trans?
throttle cable depends on the intake and carb and bracket, year models are different? youll probly need to mod the bracket,, move it forward or get one for a qjet. some aftermarkets are really adjustable, but the thin ones tend to bend if you have a stiff spring? I have not tried this one.. it also depends on the trans/cable.. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/spe-24283/overview/ heres some pics http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=...cs&FORM=HDRSC2 some people do run the choke power from the fuse box, lots of ways to do it.. electric choke would need a 12v, key on, fused circuit, I think the choke is a about 20a fuse. it would be good to use a separate circuit, and a relay, depending on other loads, older cars are kinda limited on how much stuff you can add.. I would not run the extra power thru the ignition switch/fuse box, but triggering a relay with it is ok, takes very little power.. the later models run the choke thru the oil pressure switch too, so the choke heater wont come on till the engine is running..
