Amp to volt meter DIY
It's been done a few ways but here's my version. (couldn't find any BIGGER pictures)
Parts list: volt gauge Summit Racing EQU-7268 $17 2 4-40 X 1 1/2" machine screws 2 plastic washers 6 nuts 6 flat washers Started by tearing the new gauge apart. Rather than risk breaking the needle off, I cut out the gauge face. I drilled out the rivets on the old amp gauge and removed the faceplate. I used the vise and hammer to flatten out the faceplate. There's two electrical tabs that insert into the back of the gauge. I removed them and double bent them for better clearance through the backing plate. I drilled mounting holes in the faceplate and attached the screws and washers. The back of the mounting plate needs to have a larger hole in it so the leads will exit. I added the second set on mounting screws to adjust how far away the gauge will mount. Here's the gauge with 12 volts. Final piece mounted with new sticker.

Re: Amp to volt meter DIY
Good job on the conversion. Did you reverse the position of the temp and volt gauge?

Re: Amp to volt meter DIY
calibrate your own temp gauge with that blue resistor?
I actually added a resistor inline in the wire to the sender to get mine to read like a I wanted. |

Re: Amp to volt meter DIY
I bought the temp gauge from LMC, but I did put a resistor inline for the fuel sender to get within range.
