Chevy 292 #5 main cap bolt

I can needing the #5 main cap bolt that attaches the oil tube to the main bearing cap. The machine shop lost mine and I am trying to find a replacement.

Check ebay, check local junk yards for engines, and if you become a subscribing member you can post a "Want to buy" add and since the Machine Shop lost yers THEY should be the ones finding a replacement for you.

Good question, though the reason I believe is because the bolt has the bracket that holds the oil pump pick screen molded to it.

If the machine shop lost it, they should be the ones to find it and pay for it. I'm not sure I'd trust that machine shop to do any work for me if they're too lazy to fix their own mistakes.

Got a call from the parts place on Internet stating the bolt is obsolete discontinued

I agree. We have one here that has so much crap laying around, I don't see how they get things done. Unfortunately, it's the only one in the area.
