Has anyone tried one of these boxes under the seat?

Found this on eBay. It looks like it may be a good solution. Just curious if anyone has tried one.

Length: 26-3/4" End to end.
Depth: 12-1/2" Front to back.
Height: 4.5-6.125"


At one time I had 2 8" boxes under my seat that fit well but they were stolen while it was at the paint shop. They worked well but the bass was a bit muffled.

AHA it took me a while to find what a DD SL7 was.....

DD Audio SL7(10 or 12)Google search plus searching on DD's site. That does look like a great driver.

I was thinking more of Pyle Audio or Fosgate.... I don't have the budget for a $400 sub plus box plus ..........

Maybe I should have structured my question better.

Will these boxes fit under our stock seats?
Do they perform well with moderate drivers?

May seem kind of pricey but with normal shallow mount subs you will get a kick but the range will suffer because of the lack of suspension travel, also ferrite magnets tend to be huge in order to make the motor force needed where is neodynium can be just a fraction of the size and produced the same amount of power.
the sl is inverted but has full travel for sound while using neo for power

Sundown Audio has some great small enclosure subs as well. For half the price of the DD Audio.

Im running an Sd-2 10" in my 65 Nova and people don't believe its a single 10 til they see it.
Fosgate is starting to fall behind unless youre paying for their high end. As mentioned Pyle is just that.....

Historically I use small rectangle box type outdoor speakers under the bench seats of my old trucks. You can screw the brackets to the floor and point the front of them toward your feet. A couple of these with an amp and your ears will be ringing worse than they already are... if your old like me. Plus I like to keep the old radio in dash and mount the new fangled one as an auxiliary under the dash... you know like you used to do with the old CB radio. Because I now view all new electronics as a disposable flavor of the day. I like radios because I like to listen to the news.... keeps my dander up!

I'm sure you guys considered this, but the reason that under seat boxes sound muffled...is usually the seat It sounds dumb, but not only does it directly block the path of the outgoing pressure waves, but it can block full excursion of the woofer if the sub is too close to the droop of the seat bottom. Its like listening to headphones through a hat/hoodie.

I've always tried to opt for a behind seat or console box. They both can suffer from muffling too, but usually you can aim them in a way so they have at least a somewhat clear path. A ported box and subs that like porting will give you more sound with less physical volume if calc'd correct.

I've seen some guys space their seat up slightly, then build a larger enclosure for sealed or in-firing subs.

one of the reasons i like the DD SL7 10 or 12 is you get full excursion like a normal sub and the magnet provides space for the to happen. me personly, il be doing a t-line blowthru to avoid all those issuses but most are not willing to go that far

Because that would mean all the air would come out the middle which means big boom. Lol
