Crew-Cab/Suburban Door Panels?

I painted my door panels this weekend to match the rest of my interior trim. While they don't look bad, they sure don't look 'new' either. While there seems to be different sources for the front panels, I've only found replacement rear door panels @ one place (DashTop.com).

Has anyone used these & can offer any info (quality/fit/etc...)?
Other options besides finding another used set in better shape than my current units @ the wrecking yard?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Give Tony at Texas Squares a call (496.939.1599) if you are interested in used ones. I have found that a lot of suburbans with the tinted back windows have pretty good panels because the Texas sun didn't get to them as bad. I know this is not exactly what you asked but just another option for you.

Yep.... The main reason I was considering new was anything you usually find in this area is sun baked, scratched, or worn because of the age.

If those are anything ike the repop front ones, they won't be satisfactory. They are a lot thinner, and the hardware usually isn't replaceable (it's molded into the panel). There was a set on my old '79, and I really didn't like them.

When you say "hardware", are you talking about the push clips that help retain the panel or stuff that's on the interior side that's visible? The one thing I noted was the 'inserts' adjacent to the handle area are molded into the panel. I'm 50/50 on that by itself..... but the other thing is they're not drilled for map pockets which overwhelmingly helps being ok w/the molded insert feature (I DO NOT care for the map pockets @ all).

My concern is alot of the aftermarket stuff is some type of poly which doesn't allow paint to adhere (ex: LMC's repop consoles for the squares). I'm not sure if the door panels they list would have the same issue. My search continued regardless because LMC only lists front doors & nothing for the rears. I found this other company but can't seem to find much out about the product other than price.

Re: Crew-Cab/Suburban Door Panels?

I have seen some modernized matching front and rear panels out there that look great but expensive and too modern for my liking but would be right at home with later model leather seats. I believe with some searching you can find a set in the DFW area for a reasonable price. Is this for an '89? Maroon or tan? Are you aware that the pre '89 panels use the same basic panel as the '89 - '91 even though the fabric portion is different? May help your search if you decide to go that route.

I am aware of the year model range but its a good tip for others that may not. My c-list searches are for 73-87's & burbs. I'm looking for tan panels but they'll still get painted for consistency within the cabin.

I went tonight to look @ a set from a guy parting out 2 burbs. Oddly, my front panels are decent.... it's the rears w/scratches & a couple deeper gouges. His set (for a burb) consisted of the front 2 only. I suggested he change his ad to reflect its a pair instead of the set of 4.

I have other possibilities that may be an option but the search locally continues as well.
