283 top radiator pipe

After searching, I did not find any info for the dimensions and angles to bend the pipe. Anyone have them?

This is what I'm looking for.

I'll take it. you said $30.00 shipped correct?

I do have a source for stainless tubing. I may make some if anyone is interested.

Re: 283 top radiator pipe

I make mine from leftover exhaust tubing scrap. I also did the bottom tube and had them ceramic coated along with my zoomies a few years ago...

Re: 283 top radiator pipe

The pipe I bought from 1963c-10 isn't going to work. It may have been bent for a newer truck. Maybe early 70's with a 350? It is 1.5" on each end. The 283 is 1.75". What are your thoughts?

Re: 283 top radiator pipe

I believe it might fit once you get the old hose off and are able to line it up better...
when I put the Pontiac 455 in my 63 I just used a piece of baling wire to get the shape, and then had an exhaust shop bend a tube for me. like the way yours is pictured, at first I did not think it would fit, but after I put the rubber hoses on the ends it fit into place.

Re: 283 top radiator pipe

Comparing the 2 pictures in post 14 and 21.
Post 14 has the short bend on engine side and 21 has short bend on the rad end.
Try turning it the oppisite way.
Sometimes it is a simple fix.

Re: 283 top radiator pipe

I can make one. I need a template (either 1.5 or 1.75 template). aluminzed steel or 304SS, hose beads, mandrel bends. One off custom will not be in-expensive. I agree with flipping end for end and trying that. Bruce
