Master Cylinder Question
My 85 c10 brakes are real soft. I believe the problem lies in my master cylinder and brake booster. I am running a pretty aggressive cam and also a supercharger so I do not believe I am creating enough vacuum in the motor for the brake booster to work properly. I would really like to switch to a manual brake set up. Can I just use a master cylinder set up from like a 75 c10? Has anybody done this or know why it would be a bad idea?

If you got a vacuum gauge see if you have 18 or higher if not go manual or install a vacuum pump on it.

Seems like if you were not getting enough vacuum then the pedal would be hard, not soft.

Yeah keith has a point if the pedal is soft you got air in the lines or your master cylinder is toast.
