Need some help 62 k10 d44
Working on a 62 K10 with D44, closed knuckle. I need two spindles, as these obviously went dry at some time and the bearings have cut into the step in the spindle. I found them at Quad 4x4, but at $400 per side, after adding bearings, seals, lube, and labor, a swap seems more logical. Anyone have spindles? If I want to swap complete axle, is there a bolt-in? Thanks for any help, I got a headache from searching the net

For cheap oem parts look on rockauto.com if they have them.A full axle swap anything 60s to 87 will bolt right in it just make sure the gear ratio matches the rear end you have now.

Re: Need some help 62 k10 d44
I recommend finding a front axle from a 73+ pickup. 73-76 are dana 44 and 77-87 will be 10 bolt. Both will bolt up to your springs, have disk brakes and have larger u-joints.
however because of the front disk brakes you will now need a new master cylinder and will need to modify your hardline plumbing to separate front and rear circuits.

You're looking for 22137x spindles on a dana 44 closed knuckle. King pin bearings are 11590/11520. Can be ordered from any auto parts store. Get your seals and king pin shims from Walcks 4wd. www.Walcks4wd.com Same stuff Quad 4x4 sells but at a much better price, and the seals are exactly the same. Hope that helps. The closed knuckle stuff is out there, you just have to look unless you desire a swap. I wanted my original, so I looked around until I dug up what I needed. Jonathon
