Re: baby moons

Those wheels are designed for standard 10 1/8" hubcaps, just like the old 3 bump wheels. With few exceptions, any Chevy car hubcap from 1954 and up, and any Ford passenger car hubcap from 1949 and up will snap on. This also includes the GM truck hubcaps designed for 3 bump wheels.

The caveat being any cap that is "really" tight. I've seen factory 1970's-80's hubcaps split at the edge after being forced over the 4 hump wheels. This is however very rare, as the 4 humps are not the all the same size like they are on the 3 hump wheels.

Two of the humps are standard size, and two of them are a tad smaller. The tricky part about baby moons is some slope all the way to the edge, and have no "sidewall" to easily get over the wheel bump. Others (including the GM version with the bowtie stamped in the center, have a "straight edge" sticking out perpendicular from the wheel. This type may be easier to snap on to a 4 bump wheel. It just depends on what brand you happen to find looking for baby moons.

I have pictures of my truck wearing 4 bump wheels and 1954 and 1960 Chevy hubcaps somewhere.

And welcome to the forum!!!

Re: baby moons

I bought mine at HubcapMike's. They offer a 10 1/8" version that fit the 4 bump style.

I'll try to post pics tomorrow.

Re: baby moons

Perfect examples of the “straight edge” I described above. These will fit on just about any 10 1/8” wheel.
