Bags for a c60
I am contemplating buying a 65 c60 with little to no rust from a farmer.
It's been in the field for 10 years under some trees. The paint is shot, every rubber seal is shot and the motor turns over but won't run. I love the look of the truck and want to actually use it. But, I would like to improve the looks of it some more. I really want to lower it but be able to haul a car if need be. What kind of bag setup would this take? Or, do I even need to bag it? A static drop would be fine with me. Also, is there a way to switch it to discs in the front but still retain the factory wheel setup? Thanks, Steven

You would need to find a more modern truck with the wanted parts and swap them over. It might be advantageous to just swap the bodies over to another good chassis

Re: Bags for a c60
I was looking at one of these 1991 and up c/3500 hd's the other day, thinking that a 60 series cab and clip would look really good on the chassis.
they are rated pretty heavy and would probably work for car hauling. here is the wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_C/K imo you are probably opening a big can of worms trying to modify the og. 65 60 series chassis and suspension. if that is what you want to do, I would look at "Z ing" the frame in the front, and maybe a the same in the rear. a couple things I ran into w/ my 66 60 series: insurance, I have to carry a separate commercial policy on it because of the weight. registration, also because of the weight it costs me double that of my c/10. wheels and tires, new tires are expensive, and if you have the old split rim style 9.00 20's you can't find a tire shop that will touch them, I was lucky and after a year of looking I found a rare set of 1965 22.5's that are not a split rim and will take a modern tire. a couple times in that year I almost bought another 60 series just for better tires.. this yellow 61 is a 60 series that was placed on a 63-66 1 ton frame, and came out nice.

Re: Bags for a c60
Thanks guys. I might just pass on it. If he comes back with an insanely low price I will get it and look around for another chassis.

Re: Bags for a c60
I have almost decided, if we reach a deal, That I will keep it on the frame and get new wheels and lop off the bed to 10 or 12 feet. I will figure out a way to lower it about 6 inches and be done with the chassis. I want to keep it able to haul stuff.
I will probably drop in a diesel engine as well if my buddy comes through with one. If not, I will rebuild the 292 and take steps to pep it up. I built one in the 80s that was a beast and not as much was available back then so it should turn out better this time around. Cross your fingers the deal goes through soon. It took about 6 months to even get him talking to me about it. Steven
