The brackets should make positive contact under the leaf mounting pad. You should also use new u-bolts whenever doing a flip kit. Try using Bell Tech or Western Chassis parts.

Re: HELP drop kit problems
What do they show?
You installed a cheap flip kit. You just need a better quality flip kit for your model truck..... don't go by 5" drop.

Re: HELP drop kit problems
Reason I was doing 5 is because I don't want to do a C notch on this truck. Can I get away with that doing a 6 inch??

Re: HELP drop kit problems
There is no such thing as a 5" or 6" specific rear drop when using a mass marketed flip kit. The 5" or 6" number comes from the number of leafs in the spring pack. A flip kit is a flip kit (it flips the rear from under the leaf packs to above them). The diff between a 5 or 6" rear drop is how many leafs your truck has. Fewer leafs = less drop. More leafs = more drop.

Re: HELP drop kit problems
I'd just do shackles and hangers then gets you a 4 inch drop. It's what I just did on my c30. I also removed the overload spring since I'm adding air helpers anyway and got it down another inch and installed new leaf spring centering pin bolts and u bolts wile I was at it.

Re: HELP drop kit problems
Whatever drop you have now would be the same w/a better quality kit. I would not run any flip bracket that is not reinforced under the axle tube (& why I suggest Bell Tech or Western Chassis).

Re: HELP drop kit problems
Only way I can find it and have it fast is with buying it with the c notch, ill just use the c notch on a future project. I didn't look into the flip kit like I should have and those flip brackets look like flat stock I could have made in my vise.
