Aftermarket core support

Thinking about changing mine. I had a accident years ago and had the truck repaired. Over the years I noticed everything didn't line up exactly right. I took the front clip apart last night and started cleaning things up and noticed that the core support had shims on both sides where it was bolted to the fenders. It was also warped some on the lower drivers side along the bottom. You can see where the bodyshop did some minor work to it to try to straighten it out. So my question is, is a aftermarket core support worth having or should I just try to make the original work?

Is it the original core that the body shop attempted to straighten or a replacement core they bent to match a warped frame? It would suck to buy a new core only to find out your frame is warped.

Not sure about your neck of the woods, but good OEM core supports are available from CL or junkyards out here and they are usually rust free.

Its original. Our salvage yards don't have these trucks. They get bought whole as soon as they get one.
