1967 inline 6 292
Have a simple question. Have my 1967 292 engine out of truck in middle of rebuild, question is would it be better to install timing cover first before pan or pan then timing cover. Also, do they make a one piece pan gasket for this engine. Thanks

No, they do not make a 1 piece pan seal. You need to install the timing cover first, then the pan.

Since I posted, I agree they do not make a one piece. Thanks for the instruction.

Re: 1967 inline 6 292
Its actually quite funny...you HAVE to install the timing cover 1st because it won't work if you don't. I tried it for the heck of it and yes. lol No they don't have a single piece seal....It is a 4 piece and I Highly advise the use of a good silicon and don't be "sparring." I used blue silicon and dumped it on to the point is was oozing out the out side..then just wiped it off real good. I don't wanna be seeing leaks for a loooong time. Silicon your timing cover gasket as well.
