I hava GM Performance 290 hp 350 with a edelbrock 1406 carb. it's fed by a Holley blue 110 gph pump with a deadhead regulator set at 4.5 psi. I am switching to mechanical pump cause fuel tank is still in cab. Pump is working to hard. What are opinions on high pressure versus high volume pump, like from a old vette.

Re: opinion
With a Edelbrock carb, you absolutely do not want/need high pressure.
Without high performance/high RPMs you do not need high volume. Edelbrocks website shows some mechanical fuel pumps for use with their carburetors.

Re: opinion
I would just buy a stock $20 pump. It will supply all the fuel your engine will ever need.

Re: opinion
With that engine there is no need for anything more than a stock pump. Save your money and just by a stock replacement

Re: opinion
Agreed no need for anything over 6-7 psi or you could overflow your bowls and potentially catch the truck on on fire.

Re: opinion
that 1406 only need about 5 psi to work well anything much over that and it will blow off the needle and seat. Jim
