Water temp gauge

I bought 2 3 gauge clusters last year and installed one in my truck yesterday started it up and volts, oil worked ok.. water temp gauge never moved, I removed it put in the second one and nothing again, took bought gauges in the house put the end in water on the stove, one finially moved to 150* when the water was boiling, other nothing...any ideas beside trash?

Those capillary action gauges seldom work right. You need to get an electric gauge.
