Been travelling alot gathering parts and came across this rare Chevy Sport

Well I haven't been active here on the board much. It is spring and the ideal time to be hitting a few wrecking yards in the states that are close to me to gather up some more parts for my inventory. In the process of doing this I came across this Chevy Sport van. I don't think they are remotely desirable but I think they are pretty rare. It is the only one I have seen in person and have only found a couple pics on the internet.

Re: Been travelling alot gathering parts and came across this rare Chevy Sport

Vans have something of a cult following here in the UK, in the 70's and 80's Bedford (a commercial arm of Vauxhall, itself part of the GM group) produced a model called the CF - essentially a smaller, British take on the G van. They are rarer on British roads than American GM vans now. That van would be desirable over here by the Vanners and the retro guys. Very cool. I'd love a panel van.

Just an observation: the model number is for a cargo van.

CG21305 = cargo
21306 = passenger van

that's pretty looking van ( interesting graphics too tho ). look(s) like that the sliding door(s) are the hot ticket on these seeing that both of them are missing ..

if I was redoing that van ... I would so take load(s) of photo(s) and make an album. because once it come(s) around to assembly it, those would be your reference(s).

also tracing paper over the graphics, to get a actuate representation of the image(s) and colour(s). because I think that they are not re producing that. maybe a vinyl shop may do something like that. just your best bet. IMO

its not an everyday van for sure ...

Re: Been travelling alot gathering parts and came across this rare Chevy Sport

Vans are making a comeback. Watch out for huge rake, tires sticking out of wheel flares, and murals galore!!! I've seen a couple around locally done up 70's style and Freiburger and Finnegan are driving a 630 HP one on Power Tour this year!!!

As for the VIN, a lot of the conversion vans have the cargo VIN since they start with a blank slate instead of the passenger VIN that would come with an entire interior that they would just throw away.

BTW, anyone notice the order code on the engine? LS9 LOL!!!

We had one when I was a kid, My dad had it custom painted and the interior was all custom. It was straight out of the 70's hippies van. We had a lot of fun trips to Florida and back during our summer vacations.

Re: Been travelling alot gathering parts and came across this rare Chevy Sport

I picked up a Chevy Sport van a few years ago ...just in case I ever wanted to restore one. I don't see them going up in value but very few have survived.GMC also used the same RPO for the Street Sedan.Thanks for posting the SPID.

I think yours is the only ones I found any pictures of. I don't see them getting crazy on price either but they are pretty rare. I have seen quite a few Sport Trucks and this is the only van I have seen in person
