Steering gear box
My power steering gear box in my 77 C10 is leaking like crazy. Has anyone ever has luck putting new seals in one or should I just bite the bullet and get a rebuiit one? I'm guessing with it being 38 years old that it would'nt hurt to replace it.

I just had mine replaced on my 86, not because of leaking, but because it had a lot of play in it. Point of caution, the garage that did it put in 3 rebuilt units before they got one that was acceptable. The first two kept pulling to the right. Glad they backed up their work.

I bought a box and have not put it in yet. Got it from O'rielleys for about 150.

Gotta say that if you need a new box and can afford a good one, an AGR is the best in the business. I installed their quick-ratio, 69-up box in a 66 truck, and the on-center tracking and steering response was simply amazing.

If it steers fine just leaks rebuild the seals if it steers sloppy and bad replace the box.

I just received my Redhead box the other day. I haven't installed it yet but cant wait to feel the difference. 256.00 =+ 100 core+ 34 shipping to NY from Washington state
