Revs hanging up
Sbc350 with Holley 4 barrel in my 49, when I blip the throttle the revs hang up for quite a few seconds, any ideas what might be causing this?

Re: Revs hanging up
Weak return spring or linkage binding. Pedal binding. If you have an TH350 trans the kick down cable might be binding too. If everything seems to work ok with the engine off, but it does it when running look for stuff that might bind when the engine moves, on the gas will cause it to rotate slightly clockwise (or a lot if your mounts are worn). I have fought this before too.

Re: Revs hanging up
Going one further on Orrie's idea. Try disconnecting the throttle linkage/linkages at the carb and rev it by hand. If it drops right back to idle, you've got a linkage issue. Reconnect each linkage and try to isolate it. If not, the search continues. Let us know.
