Besides the obvious what kind of work do you mean.

The doors are the only steel in my truck that are in marginal shape. They both have small rust holes and both have 2 cut-outs for speakers each. I was just going to replace them because I figured the $300 they cost for the door shells would be cheaper than buying patch panels and having them welded in.

Re: Best replacement doors to buy

There will always be fitment issues with pretty much ALL aftermarket panels and tins. So going into it with an open mind that they will not be a direct bolt in with great fitment is a bonus.

Also... these trucks were bolted together at the factory with the gaps not being aligned perfectly either. Trucks were made to be trucks back then.

Bite the bullitt, do a search--nationwide and buy the best ORIGINAL doors you can find----and as said before, youll still have to massage them some for a good fit.
Ive never seen or even heard of good aftermarket doors. When you buy aftermarket, there will always be fitment issues and quality of Chinese steel issues. Aftermarket doors are usually too long or too short or light weight. I would love to be proven wrong on this.

I searched aftermarket and then searched for the best original I could find-----then drove 1100 miles to pick them up.

I have two very solid doors for sale in the Houston area. Come get them! They are listed here in the parts forum under parting out a long bed stepper

considering all the aftermarket doors are made by only 2 Asian companies, what makes your doors any better than other vendor's doors?

not trying to be a smarty, genuinely interested.

Its like 54Belair said in the above post. Your original doors are going to need work so they will fit just right so why spend the extra time and money dealing with rust and fitment issues. I build a lot of these trucks and NEVER use original doors. Our aftermarket doors are rust free and fit really well. I don't understand why anyone would want to deal with rust and fitment issues both. The difference between us and these other companies is that we build these trucks everyday using the same parts we ship to our customers. A little knowledge and customer service goes along way for most people. Here are some pics for the non-believers...

Did you look at the pictures I posted above? Most people do not know where to start when lining the doors up on these trucks. We have a very good tech department that helps solve these problems.

I get it. You're here to sell product. But please don't claim the same exact product sold by multiple other vendors fits better simply because you sell it.

What brand doors do you sell?

Sherm6413 simply asked a question and I replied with pictures of how well our products fit. Give us a call when you are ready to order and I will discuss with you which brand we sell. Thanks

If you were replying to Sherm6413, then why did you quote me in the post with the pics?

Why can't you share with us the brand you sell?

After this I won't be buying from them. I hate when people beat around the bush.

Re: Best replacement doors to buy

I re-skin and or make minor repairs to OE doors. Aftermarket Door skins are easy to work with, the fit is rather spot on. Just ensure you have all the necessary tools or know a good shop that has the knowledge.

Re: Best replacement doors to buy

I fell into the reproduction door trap. Couldn't even get them to close no matter what I did. I discovered the reason why as well, the area where the hinge attaches to the door isn't from deep enough causing the hinge to move the door towards the rear once attached. These were Tri-plus doors
