1949 GMC engine ID help!!!
I just aquired a 1949 GMC 1 1/2 ton pickup. I tried decoding the engine block numbers and came up empty handed. Anyone know what this might have come out of?
It's an inline 6 and has GMC stamped into the valve cover. Thanks!

Re: 1949 GMC engine ID help!!!
I learned yesterday that on GMC the first three digits are the engine size. You have a 270. Can't help with the rest.

I'm still curious if this is the original engine or not. I will keep looking and if anyone has any other places to check I would appreciate the help. D
