Best method to install a bench seat
I am installing a bench seat in my 70 truck. Prior to the bench seat, I had a 60/40 split bench installed. Those where easy to remove since I could remove portions at a time. So my question is, do I need to remove the door to install the bench seat without scuffing the bench, paint, ect... Thanks in advance

Re: Best method to install a bench seat
Removed and replaced my bench in my 72 by myself. Didn't scratch anything. Just propped up one end and lifted the other. When I got it in, I put cardboard underneath the mounts to slide it across the carpet. No bubbles, no troubles....didn't remove the door and didn't hurt the paint. I assume with two people it'd be a lot easier going in

Re: Best method to install a bench seat
Open the passenger door ,tape some card board over the threshold of the door opening to avoid scratches have seat rack hardware ready .
with 2 guys lift seat and enter thru passenger door while holding the seat have the person closest to the truck lift and gently set the seat down just inside the threshold and while the second guy patiently waits have the first guy go around the truck and crawl in and help lift the seat up and across the cab and set in place . line up 2 front bolts and just start them into the mounts , use the seat rack actuator to move the seat forward and install the rear seat bolts .Once Your sure the seat tracks are square and seat functions correctly tighten bolts down snugly and enjoy . You can LIGHTLY spray some light machine oil or white lithium grease into the slides of the seat tracks prior to install to ease function when done |

Thank you both! I'll attempt to install it once I get home.
