Value question

I have a cousin who has a couple of old pickups sitting out in his pasture, one being a 64 gmc with a 305 V6 with a complete and unmolested factory power steering set up. bed is gone off of it, body is destroyed, but has most of the interior parts on it. Other is a 66 longbed with a beat up body runnin 6 cylinder and other good interior partsand so on. I can buy them both for $400. My main question is the value of the power steering on the gmc. Dont know much about gmc stuff. any help would be great. Both would be parts trucks

I've seen the p/s setups go for as much as $400 is working condition. P/S is highly sought after if you have the complete setup.

Re: Value question

It feels like it's a little high priced for the both of them, and I don't have a gmc to put the steering on anyway

Re: Value question

I can't imagine you couldn't get 400 out of those two trucks from the sound of it. Around here if something will start and run its $800 regardless of anything else. Might not be the case in your area though.

The PS would be about $200...to a "want it stock" guy but those old setups have too many parts to be dependable. I can't imagine you not getting a profit at 4 bills for both but may be too much trouble.

Re: Value question

Maybe I need to move to Tennessee! Here in California if it starts and runs and is not a complete rust-bucket, you're at $5000 to $8000. Junk ones start at $1500 and those are the ones that are too-far gone! Guess that's why they call it the "Golden State"...you gotta have a lot of gold to buy these things!

Haha don't get in any hurry to move, I just meant in general anything that runs is at least 800. When talking 60-66 trucks specifically the prices seem about the same.
