Fan Shroud Cover??
I bought my 1985 C10 with NO engine in it. The radiator was in the bed and the brackets were in the glove compartment. So I have never seen these in the truck and I am going by the diagram in the LMC catalog.
I have mounted the brackets with new pads and have bolted them down. For the most part, they line up and hold the radiator nicely. However, it looks like there should be some cover that spans between the two radiator brackets that goes between the shroud and the top of the radiator core support. I have looked through both the service manual and LMC catalog but there is nothing shown other than the two little brackets. Can anyone verify if this is correct? Again, I have not seen any of this installed so I am only guessing. Thanks

Re: Fan Shroud Cover??
There are 2 types of upper radiator hold downs for the 21" radiator. The 2 small ones like you have that leaves the shroud open. There is also a long one piece hold down that covers up the shroud. It looks like your installation is correct.

Re: Fan Shroud Cover??
That looks correct, its normally just the 2 smaller brackets on each end that fits over the radiator. If you looks in LMC under "Cooling" there is a panel that you can buy that goes between the 2 brackets or you can get the larger panel that incorporates the 2 brackets into the panel.
The larger panel/brackets did come on some of the factory trucks but are hard to find. I believe the ones that came with the larger 4 core radiators and big blocks. |

Really?? Wow??
Just looks so unfinished like that. Well, as long as it's right, I will go with it. I'm sure it saved GM a quarter per truck. So glad they put it to good use!

You could always make a cover or make something fit from something else.
