Rare Truck!!!!
Now that I have you attention, I see a few of these post all the time with " I have a rare truck" or "This is one of a kind". Who actually here on this website has a really rare truck? That they know of, not just thinking you have one. I know all our trucks are RARE to us, but really.... a RARE truck.

Re: Rare Truck!!!!
Any low mile survivor in OG paint that hasn't been monkeyed with in any way.
Since rust protection was nil on these trucks one without ANY rust. Then add to that certain options and parameters tighten. I'm a k20 fanatic. I would love to see a 1967 k20 panel with buddies etc etc etc rust free survivor. Maybe some railroad or mining signage on the side. I consider this to be what I like and since I've never seen one IMHO its rare. That said I'd would also like to see pick of truly rare combos Cheers!

Re: Rare Truck!!!!
I'd say only a handful of guys here have the highly optioned swb bbc trucks which are rare & desireable. Lots of other rare trucks but not always as desireable I find. I've had so many trucks over the years, I wouldn't call any of them rare even the fully loaded grande sierra. There's just so many of these trucks out there.

Re: Rare Truck!!!!
I have a rare truck... I rarely see it anymore, since it's parked behind the garage waiting for me to get back to work on it.

Re: Rare Truck!!!!
I don't like rare trucks, I prefer them to be well done.

Re: Rare Truck!!!!
as far as build numbers, the 4X4 Panels were the rarest ones. That said, there are probably more of them now than were ever manufactured. That is getting to be true for SWB trucks also.I don't consider that rare since either has usually be built and wasn't that way from the factory.

Re: Rare Truck!!!!
I don't know if she is exactly rare (I am learning, please bear with me!), but all VINs match (frame, engine, transmission, etc), nearly everything is original (interior is very good, sadly one fender panel was repainted by previous owner because of some minor scrape damage), and she has just over 43k miles on her. Almost no rust. 1967 C20. A lot of these trucks were made and I am under no illusion that she's one of a kind, but she's super nice!
(Ugly canopy is now gone, we only had it on her to move it) |

Re: Rare Truck!!!!
Rare - is special ordered or COPO type made for a specific reason, i.e. Military, govnermnet/municiple agencies or industry. I had a 69 SWB Truck / Air Force order with 3 options on the Spid, don't see that to often.
Just a common production vehicle with high or low options doesn't make it rare, But a well preserved vehicle makes it more desirable to the enthusists. But some folks like customs mods and so forth. I dont there is a industry standard for "rare" except at a steak house!

Re: Rare Truck!!!!
In those days with all the options available they are all "rare" in some way. If you looked for exactly identical trucks you would only find so many of each and probably 1 of a lot.
I enjoy seeing nice examples with unusual options that people actually drive and enjoy.

Re: Rare Truck!!!!
The 68 C-30 with 9 foot long step side bed I bought 3 years ago is rare, however not very desirable.

Re: Rare Truck!!!!
We do have what we believe is a "one of one" GMC short fleet big block. Check out the link below. I talked to the salesman (Pat Mauldin) that ordered it new for his buddy Charlie. Pat is pretty sure it's the only one like it due to the Chevelle Black Cherry special paint, and if you factor in all the goodies on the spid it probably is very rare indeed.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=573552 And yes, we are building it....slowly. Its going to be beautiful, and expensive!
