What muffler offset for long tubes and true duels?

I'm running long tube headers and I was wondering what offset were you guys running on your mufflers on a true duel setup. Perhaps a muffler with a centered inlet and outlet is best. Any pictures of a true dual setup would be greatly appreciated ! Thanks!

An offset-inlet/center-exit is a much more common muffler.

A "straight-through" like a Magnaflow would work too.

I built my exhaust around a centered/offset muffler, but should not have - my replacement options are more limited. I replaced those mufflers with an offset/centered Dynomax, which are reversible, so I'm ok.

Not "true-dual," but imagine II where the X is.

Here is my last trucks true dual setup.


Two center/center turbo's then two center/offset walkers. From here they ran straight back over the axle with a slight bend then out on a angle behind the back wheels.

This thing was new car quiet. Saying something considering I was not running a cat.



This is my much simpler current setup. 2.5" all the way back to some 2" porters then out to the 2" in/out exhaust. Sounds like an/ open header motorcycle 600-1200 then it is quiet until 4000.





I pass it off as a farm truck.

I have a inline 6. But you could do the same thing by running the exhaust under the bell housing and still have the ease of maintenance I do.
I have run a few trucks(mostly lowered) this way;



You can go center out if you want to cut into the body and have ports. Or go offset offset if you want to only have a small notch at the bottom of bed.

Either way you can lay frame because where the mufflers are the frame curves up. On some frames I have c notched the frame a bit to achieve the same thing. The mufflers tuck up inside the bed side yet provide a quiet tone.
