1963 Horn Location
Sorry, but the search did not return what I am looking for. The horn relay on my '63 went out. This morning as I was removing it, I noticed that the wire running to the horn from the relay also branched off and went into the wiring harness. I suspect that it should go to another horn located somewhere else, but I don't have that other horn and I don't know it's correct location. The horn that I have is located on the drivers side directly over the horn relay location. The current horn is labeled Delco-Remy type S, model 427 12 volt. Anyone know if this is the correct horn and if it is a high or low tone?
Thanks, Hugh |

Re: 1963 Horn Location
Its the correct horn and in the correct location. Hi or low note will depend on which way the spiral runs.

Re: 1963 Horn Location
Low note which is the most common spirals clockwise, high note spirals counter clockwise

Re: 1963 Horn Location
Also....if what I've read is correct off the 67-72 threads, the 67-72 guys think the hi note wasn't in production until around 69.

Re: 1963 Horn Location
So, this '63 should only have one horn?
Thanks, Hugh |
