3/4 Ton With Small Block?

I have a mid-80s long bed with 8 lug wheels and a small block. Is that uncommon? Also, is it likely to be a four bolt main?

Re: 3/4 Ton With Small Block?

If its a 4x4, I believe most of them came with small blocks. Not sure on the 4-bolt mains. The C20's may have gotten a big or small block I believe.

Two wheel drive. I think it is actually a GMC.

I've seen a lot of them that way, I had a 1 ton crew single wheel with a 350.

Regular cabs are usually sbc's. Crew cabs are usually big blocks from what I have seen. In the 3/4 ton, and above category.

Not that uncommon. My 1986 C20 crew cab (long box, obviously) came with the 350 engine and TH400 transmission combination, and it was formerly a fleet vehicle and all were equipped that way.

Re: 3/4 Ton With Small Block?

Big blocks in 3/4 tons is almost as rare as them in 1/2tons, I almost never seen them. As for 2 vs 4 bolt, why does it matter? Do you really plan to spin this motor over 6000rpm or make more then 500hp? 4 bolt mains doesn't help a stock engine with anything including longevity....

My 1976 C-20 is a 350. I only wish it was a 292

Re: 3/4 Ton With Small Block?

Thanks for the replies. I personally don't need four bolt, but a lot of people think they do and would buy it.
