Factory Options on 1961 Apache 3/4 ton???

1961 3/4 fleet has generator and oil pressure gauges. Normally see the idiot lights and Don't ever see these. Are they factory????
Also has the emergency brake handle on the floor (driveshaft) next to 4 speed shifter???? I've had other 3/4 ton Chevy trucks (2 and were 1966)
and handles were under steering wheel with cables for rear drums.
Anybody know what's up. It is a 3/4 with vin # 1C2540107771 Anybody know where it was made?

Looks like it has windshield washers and the upgraded heater.

The gauges were added by someone else. Not factory option on that cluster. The factory did have a full gauge cluster available, but that's a warning light system that someone has modified.

The "O" designates that it was manufactured at the Tarryton, NY plant. Also, most likely the E-hand brake was added or altered later. They were on the 1 tons and heavier trucks.

Interesting that it has the positraction plate on the dash. Normally they are found the back of the cab behind the seat.

Re: Factory Options on 1961 Apache 3/4 ton???

Cool truck, hazard flashers, windshield washers, deluxe heater, deluxe seat, someone added the gauges but looks like a nice job, throttle control and yes that is the correct E brake for that truck. Wonder what the switch under the dash is for? I dig the aftermarket side reflectors from the late 60s early 70s.
The aftermarket radio looks good to, not a hack job. Where in WI are you located?
Very nice truck

Can you post some more pics of the seat? We're always looking for them for our custom comfort seat thread.

Re: Factory Options on 1961 Apache 3/4 ton???

1961 Apache Came from the estate of the 94 year old original owner
who was a millright at Stokley Van Camp canning co..in Stanwood Wa.

Had a camper on it most of its life and mostly shedded.

Story is truck Rolled down hill & hit a tree, damaged Hood and fender?
Reason it has wrong hood

Truck spent entire life in the state of Washington, so seems strange
it was originally manufactured at the Tarryton, NY plant.

Checked back of the cab behind the seat and sure enough, four holes where the
positraction plate originally was.

Original owner was a real putzer. He made up at least four shelves around inside of cab.
Check out the Allstate fire extinguisher and holder by drivers post!

Cut a side entrance to box on passenger side???

Did a nice mod on the Fleetside access door using a original dispatch box lock. Is there a ring on the wood floor for a propane bottle?

Good catch, is that something you've seen before? I would not have noticed that had you not mentioned, but I do think I see the ring right underneath the access door. I assume it was for filling the tank?

To the OP, sweet truck. Hemmings Muscle Machines, which I read religiously, calls the putzer's add ons Day 2 mods. As in stuff that would have been added after it came home from the dealership.

I have a 63 3/4 2wd that has that parking brake as well
... It also has 15 in 8 lug wheels too.... So I think that parking brake is factory not an add on ( although, like anything else, it could have been changed over)..
