72 Cheyenne Super Hub Cap Question
Just wondering if someone could please post good photos of what the original hub caps would have looked like on a 72 3/4 ton 4X4 Cheyenne Super? Front and back. Please?
If there were several types please post pix of all possibilities. Thanks a bunch! Darren

I know that this is a 1/2 ton, but I also know that these are original and for sale.
Tires, wheels and hubs for 150.00. The tires are pretty much worn out but the rims and hubs are in pretty decent shape.

72 vs 73 up
I think the earlier ones (blue centers) all had outties for center area while the yellow center ones were innie's. (see centers convex vs. concave). That would mean the 4 pictured above are repainted 73 and up's. I've also heard if your careful you can pop them in and out. Nothing wrong with painting up a set of yellow centers to look right, I plan to.

Was there also a full wheel cover on the 67-72's? I thought I had a pic but can't seen to find it. Does anybody have a pic of these?

cag17 with the black truck has a much later hubcap. Thos are $5 each at the local yards, and they all have them. They were on the 80's trucks and I even have a set that I have used to soak parts in!
Yes, the blue bow tie is the correct one and is polished. I have 4 for my truck and a set of the yellow bow tie that is 73 and older that Im going to clean up and paint blue. Ther eis also a slight diff that the 73 and up are a bit concaved and the 72 and earlier are slightly inset, but, if the color is correct, the people at 5000 feet headed to Chicago will never notice! I would sure like another set of polished blue bow tie ones! Anyone??? I just bought a complete set of the 73 and up at a price I couldnt resist! Gezzzz, I love Oregon wrecking yards! They hardly crush anything! Last edited by Phillip Johnson; 09-08-2003 at 03:00 AM. |

Okay guys, I figured that was a pretty good price for wheels and all but I guess not now. If anyone is interested PM me with an offer. By the way the bands go as well.
