Doesn't sound like a BAD deal. But, I would go look at it yourself and drive it first. Sounds like the seller can't tell you much since he doesn't know what he looking at. His description is a little lacking in detail. $2500 is probably $1000 to $1500 more than they gave the previous owner as trade in value. It said it was a new truck trade in. I would be wary if I was you. But, it depends on what you want, and how much you want to spend.

i'd say if it's truly a rust-free california body it's worth the money for the body alone. to have a used car salesman admit there's noise in the engine means the thing is ready to blow so you're just lookin at a body

it has tilt too

there is a local 72 suburban custom/20 that has p-s, p-b, a-c, tilt and buckets-- all on the option list-- with an idiot light dash. strange how some of them got outfitted.

the tie downs i'm after go inside the bed and mount flush with either the floor or on the side panels. you have to drill a 3 inch hole to mount them.
