Help!
I need help my truck keeps stopping and i have just put a new fuel pump in it, plus carb kit, help! It starves for fuel. Its a 1967 GMC with a straight 6, keep in mind its been sitting for a few years.

Did you change the fuel filter too?
Is it delevering fuel at the end of the line where it attaches to the carb? Is it possible that the fuel line is routed too close to a heat source (like exhaust manifold/ headers) thus causing a Vapor Lock condition in the supply line? Just some things to check. Also, it is possible that the new pump, or carb, is bad...right out of the box...so a little tracing back of the fuel delivery system is necessary. I would unhook the fuel line at the carb and make sure the pump is squirting fuel first. Good luck. Last edited by SLS; 09-07-2003 at 12:33 PM. |

Pull the coil wire and crank into a milk jug. You don't want a fire.
May be stuff in the tank sucking over the screen.
