double flare unions (brakes)
Hi guys question about double flare unions. If you do a union and it doesn't leak is it safe to say it's safe? Might be a dumb question but when you tighten them down it is feel and not torque spec so It's in the back of my mind on the safety of the union.

Re: double flare unions (brakes)
As long as they are double flare and rated for brake lines go for it quite safe

Re: double flare unions (brakes)
fyi, you can buy a complete set of pre bent coated brake lines for your truck at the dealer for under $115.(if its a 99-07 fullsize truck)
Inverted flares and unions are great. Compression fittings are not. |

Re: double flare unions (brakes)
if a double flare union doesn't leak I guess it is considered to be fully 100% safe and correctly done?

Re: double flare unions (brakes)
Yes. Double wall flare and inverted unions are safe, and they come on a lot of cars from the factory.
