Question Bent clutch linkage?

I noticed that the clutch linkage that connects the Z-bar to the clutch pedal assembly is bent like an elongated S. Sorry for not having a picture, but for argument's sake it is bent similar to this: http://www.americanshifter.com/asset.../69256/600.jpg

At first I thought that was normal, but after browsing catalogs I noticed that all of those bars are straight. Which makes me wonder if mine got bent like that somehow, or if it's supposed to be like that.

It is rubbing against the hole in the firewall, and there is too much play in the clutch, which makes me think that it is caused by a "shorter" linkage since it makes that bend.

What do you guys think? Thanks!!!

It's a 1971 C20, thanks!
