When mine was wrecked they only offered $1200. We rebought it with a salvage title for $700. It was in perfect condition. I just booked it and got $2775. That is in excelent condition. $2005 with salvage title.

KBB is ridiculous. The best way to find out the true value of a vehicle is to get a licensed vehicle appraiser to appraise it. Keep the report cuz it might come in handy someday. Banks do pay attention to the appraisal report and insurance companies might too.
I think they run about $300.

This what always scares me about putting money into my truck. I know that, even with full coverage, the insurance company will never pay me what it is worth.
My truck is very clean and straight. It took me a year of searching to find one this nice. I paid $3550 for it, and that was a really good deal compared to what others were going for. I know, though, that I could never get that much back from insurance if it were stolen or wrecked. I have spent at least $1000 on improvements over the two years I have had it, as well as a couple of hundred hours of my time. I would lose so much if something happened to it. Slonaker |

All you have to do is get a apraisal, then submit that to the insurance company and change your policy acordingly.
