Vent Windows Rebuild
I'm going to start rebuilding the vent windows in my 70 C/10 soon. Does anyone know where I can get the rivets for them?

Re: Vent Windows Rebuild
I don't like LMC for much but for small such items, they work.
http://lmctruck.com/icatalog/cb/full.aspx?Page=24 Item 8 I recommend atleast ordering a free catalog from LMC for exploded views and Classic Industries has a really nice color catalog. Not sure if any of the Board vendors carry them such as Classic Heartbeat. I used the search tool and youtube for install tips. Just take your time and do one at a time...Enjoy!

Thank you guys for the info. Sorry Elliot949, I'm going to go with LMC. I need to get some door seals and Classic Industries is out of stock.

Re: Vent Windows Rebuild
I did not read the thread linked above because it is too long. But, I have rebuilt wing windows on my 1952 truck (virtually the same design). I have two pieces of advice:
1. Ensure you don't install the rivets backwards as most do. The head should be where you can see it when the vent window is installed and open. This means the mushroomed portion of the rivet ends up behind the window run channel/felt. 2. Don't separate the vent window hinge pin when disassembling. Rather, drill out the rivets where the hinge is attached to the vent window frame. use pop rivets to reassemble. This way, you don't have to disturb the factory hinge pin and worry that you replace it properly or aesthetically pleasing. Good luck. Last edited by Davidf; 08-12-2015 at 10:45 AM. I don't know if the wing windows are similar or not but the important part of the thread I linked is toward the end. It proves that not all repro wing vent replacement gaskets are created equal..... Night & day difference. LockDoc
