booster no worky
So my booster offers no power assistance at all. The rod to the booster seems short, was there a difference in length between 67-68 and 69-72 brake pedal assemblies??? I also came to understand that adjustments can be made to the rod in the booster. How is that accomplished.
Funny thing is the booster seems to have no vacum leak, yet it offers no assistance, as I depress the pedal it seems like i have to push through it to engage the brakes. It's gotta be the booster not functioning properly......any ideas guys???? Can I get a rebuilt booster and use mine as a core at a parts store???? How much??? Thanks guys...I haven't been driving my truck since I atttempted this deal....and I haven't bled the wheel cylinders yet, I'll see if this works out, if not I'm switching to manual brakes until I can figure out this problem.

Start your truck and let it run a couple min.Shut it off and let it set 5min.Pull the vac line off at the booster. You should hear it suck in air if it is good.If not, replace. The rod is threaded on one end for adjustment. If you had the brake lines open, you need to get all the air out,or no brakes!Sounds like a good time to replace all the brake fluid.
