76 gmc 1500 question

Hey everyone, I just picked up a 76 gmc 1500. I don't know a whole lot about the truck. It only has 1 piece of trim above both doors. It's also missing the quarter panel badges. It has 14 studs between the back window and bed. There are holes on side of the bed towards the top on both sides but no other holes for Trim.

My questions is what badges do I need for the quarter? What are the studs on the back of the cab for? I'm guessing the holes in the bed were for a bed rail protecter. Also does anyone know what model it is? Meaning a Sierra, or a classic or Scottsdale?

Thanks for any advice. I'm kinda new to the site but I've been bit by the bug.

Re: 76 gmc 1500 question

A quarter panel is on the rear corner of the truck. Chevy trucks never had quarter panel emblems, except for maybe the 4x4 decals in the 90's. You probably mean fender badges?

The 14 studs between the cab and bed more than likely were added by a previous owner for who knows what.

The trim above your doors are your drip rails.

For us to help you better, please post pics of the interior and exterior of your truck. And if you still have a SPID label somewhere, take a pic of that too. Post them up here and we'll help the best we can.

It sounds to me like the studs are for the cab molding that goes under the window

That's what I want as thinking but can't seem to find any pics of it online.

Re: 76 gmc 1500 question

The interior is pretty much gone. All I have is the door panel and dash. The guy I bought it from added the Chevy grill. It also has a dash insert that says custom deluxe but I don't think that right either. There's no spid in the glove box. The only thing there is a label about loading a camper.
