Re: I didn't do it! SHORTY

All I can say is measure twice and cut once to prevent screw ups! The builder of this should have had a rendering made first. Probably would have just done a normal SWB if he had seen what it would actually look like before going crazy with the cutoff wheel. Someone out there will fall in love with it though....

I did cut down my LWB to a SWB, however this doesn't look right.

Re: I didn't do it! SHORTY

I would need to see the frame on that truck, but I suspect that truck started life as a flight line support truck at an airport or the US Air Force. It sports the same length wheel base as the trucks I saw that had a max speed of 20 -25 mph with governed engines used to tow equipment around near aircraft.
I have seen those trucks made from Jeeps, Chevy and ford trucks and even older Dodge trucks with the Cummins turbo diesels.
If someone obtained one of those units and converted it to a street legal truck, that frame might not be butchered and might actually be "original".

Interesting truck here and not my taste, but someone surely was creative.

Cool theory... but from the ad:

Quote:
Shorty started out as a 1971 Chevy C10 Long Bed work truck with the standard wheel base of 127".

So if short wheel bases are worth more than long wheel bases, does that mean shorter wheel bases are worth more than short wheel bases? Wait, who's on first...

I'm not passing judgement on the quality of the work, which looks to be just fine, but...

To me it looks like a short bed backed into a wall going really fast.
