Re: 9.00 x 16 pics

I don't know of any 9.00 x 16s for sale these days. I have 255/85s. I think they are about the same. I took them off the '72 to go on the '95 Suburban and now going with 35/12.50s on 9.75 slots for a while. I had one picture but don't see it on my computer

Re: 9.00 x 16 pics

Yeah there are still a few places to get 9.00X16's. All of the ones I have found in the USA are only bias ply. A 255/85 is a good bit shorter as a 9.00X16 crosses to a 255/100X16. There are lots of radial options available in other countries, but not here.

Re: 9.00 x 16 pics

So far Ive found the Powerkings, Michelin xls on ebay are hit and miss, and Sta Super lugs. Im mixed up between running one of these or, q78 Swampers, or my 36x12.5s on a narrow rim. I want to run one tire year around. I need to order a lift, but im undecided on tires/sizing. So that holds up my drivelines and exhaust because they will both be done at the same shop. I appreciate any and all help. I'm hoping a 67-72 9.00r16 pic will surface on here soon. Thank you all for the help.

Well, let's see pictures of trucks with them. How's that for an idea?

Re: 9.00 x 16 pics

My brother asked the same question but went with the 255/85/16s before BFG stopped production. Once these wear out Im going with the either the skinny swampers or the powerkings

Redroad, thanks for answering my msg about the lift. I bought the Powerkings with the 2 inch Tuff Country HD. I'll post pics in a couple weeks when I pull it out of the shop. I really like the look.

Oh, that picture wasn't just the other day?? Looks great! So, what rims and lift did you end up with? And what tires, too? You now, alll the usual lift kit tire wheel questions

I thought so. I have those with 255/85s right now. I did a 4" lift (in the front). Back didn't seem to come up as much (add-a-leaf/2" block). I did 4" to run some 35/12.50 BFG A/Ts on 9.75 aluminum slots (and get 8" wheels with 285/75 mud tires). One tire blew out in a couple hundred miles, so that's it for the 35s. I may drop it down 2" up front or just stay with what I have and improve the rear situation. I really like the look of your truck.

Got pictures?

Mine sat all winter with the lift and big tires, so I got to look at it a lot. Oh well, nice driveway art!

Re: 9.00 x 16 pics

I did, too. The changes I made were done around running those wheels. I bought vintage finned aluminum differential covers and Edelbrock valve covers. Even sandblasted the Eldy air cleaner and painted that with alumna-blast. Too bad they are gone now. Tires run $300-400 a piece and what I really want in the long run is a beefy well equipped stocker. The guy that bought the three good 35s said he has a couple sets of the slots. He doesn't like them, I guess tires came on them. He didn't want mine but I sold them to a buddy who always bugged me to sell them. I think I'll grab those slots before that guy scraps them. Then I'll be back to tempted to buy expensive tires. I took the money from selling that stuff to order Wheel Vintiques 8" steel for a set of 285/75s I'll prolly wait to get till spring

Re: 9.00 x 16 pics

Good luck with the power kings. I've had two sets recently and have had no luck getting them to ride smooth. Have heated em up and used a truing machine. Went back to the 315 radials it rides like a dream!

Re: 9.00 x 16 pics

I believe it!! I made the sacrifice for the look though. I had these studded so if I can't stand it I'll just run them in the winters, or on the plow truck.
