Kick panel speaker options

So my dash on my 65 c10 is already cut for a din size stereo. I'm tired of seeing the hole and would like some tunes. I was looking at the custom auto sound kick panel speaker housings but they're pricey. Has anyone used these or something similar with any kind of success? I've seen others that are less money. Do you just screw them in to the sheetmetal? Thanks.

My truck has the ones in it from LMC. They work OK.

Got these surface mounts from Crutchfield. Work and sound okay. Mounted on top of the sealed vents.

Re: Kick panel speaker options

I got the ones from LMC also and painted them to match the interior. They work with the vents and I used 3M two sided tape and a few sheet metal screws in discreet locations to hold them in place. They work fine but they do get a little bit in the way of the dimmer switch.

Re: Kick panel speaker options

dont forget you can always install two 4in coaxial speakers in the center of the dash. plus it gives you great sound stage.

Yes, plus custom auto-sound does sell in dash speakers. With that said what kind of sound can I expect from 150watt pioneer 6.5" speakers in the kick panels plus maybe the dash speaker?

Wow! What did you use to enclose those speakers? Looks pretty impressive. How does it sound?

Re: Kick panel speaker options

its just foam cups with pillow stuffing and Fat Mat to encapsulate it. I have over $4,000 in the system and it sounds competition worthy. btw thank you
