cross member question
so looks like i might finally get started on my 64 c10, i have a cross member from a 77 c10, i want to lower it (raise) the cross member. just looking at it, seems i can do it 3 different ways, (1) "section" the whole cross member (2) "notch" just the part for the frame (3) take 1.5 inches out of the frame and box the frame there. Question is which one is "best". seems to me the 1.5" out of the frame would be the easiest and just take 1.5" out of the motor mounts also. thank u guys for any input and i have already learned so much from reading the post on here.

Re: cross member question
You might run into clearance issues between the crossmember and the oil pan if you notch the frame. That might why some guys section the crossmember.

Re: cross member question
thanks, i read that thread a while back and defiantly a lot of good info there. that one he sectioned which i will probably do. as for the clearance with the oil pan it looks like to would be close if i notch the cross member or take it out of the frame, if so there is plenty of room to take some of the midle of the cross member down some.
