replacement Detent(TV) cable
I need a new detent cable for my 86 C20 5.7L,700r4. I have tried a universal cable from one of the big aftermarket trans stores and it was made very poorly. It wouldn't set when trying to perform the procedure, no ratchet. So I tried a Advance Auto one, the cable is so tight in the housing. It doesn't spring back when pulled.
NAPA ? Any idea's or are they still available at the dealership ? Ken

Re: replacement Detent(TV) cable
I bought one from NAPA a year ago or so, and it worked fine.

Re: replacement Detent(TV) cable
I found the GM replacement cable at JC Whitney. Hard to believe. Came in a ACDelco box part # 25515598 GM # 25515598 and the best thing of all it was under $20 dollars.
