it looks like the valve seals are gone in my burb,my mechanic said they are most likely the rubber ones and with a 286 cam there shot so he suggested the umbrella seals.

The umbrella seal are the ones you want. They are better than the stock ones. There are better seals, but they are for high performance applications and aren't need for anything except extremely high power engines. Umbrella seals would be your best bet. Hope this helps.

I'd worry more about the oil pooling under the exterior of your truck and less about the smoke. HA!
PS. get an avatar newbie!

Yes indeedy, umbrella seals are what U need. You also need an air compressor and a fitting that will screw into your spark plug holes. Valve seals on average will need replacing about every 5 years. They get real crunchy. Whats up Spoof? you suck another one in to this fine message board?

I just got off the ferry and found a guy looking at and admiring (don't know why, its still not all one color) the truck. You'll see him pop in here soon, he just got a 67 and is interested in doing some work on it, so make him feel welcome, .

You can wish in one hand and crap in the other.
See which one gets filled first.
