70 rear rubber brake line ?

ok, last week rear brakes tightened up and all but loacked up. I just bought the truck 3 days befor this. so no cut out at bottom of rear drum backing plate to loosen adjusters which i never seen before. I started oiling emergency brake cable once i got it home.

so the rear rubber brake hose attaches to steel line on the passenger side of the frame, continues down between the coil spring and shock and attaches to the tee fitting on the pasenger side axle. This doesnt look correct to me, but there are factory welded brackets for the rubber line at these connections. Im going to install the new rubber line i got from lmc. Is this the correct place this line should be? all the brake lines ive seen are always over the center of the axle.

Re: 70 rear rubber brake line ?

i got the rear line off and replaced it. when someone replaced the shocks they got the brake line between the shock and spring. Line is supposed to be on back side of the shock. they jury rigged a piece of wire to the line to prevent from rubbing against the shock, and rapped electric tape on the line so it wouldnt rub thru.

Re: 70 rear rubber brake line ?

Brake lines are the metal tubing and brake hoses are rubber. I think I follow you and you are correct. The brake lines come from the cylinders across the axle to a block mounted to a bolt at about 1 o'clock on the differential. The hose connects there up to the line in the frame.
