New Guy
Just bought a 72 c10 custom and will be starting a resto mod project this winter!
It's a little rusty and a strange color combo olive green and yellow. It was originally a 3 speed but now has a t5 mated to a 327 |

Re: New Guy
Thanks for the welcomes.
Right now I want to repair all the rust and paint the truck, undecided on color. Considering doing air ride suspension, already have drop spindles. |

Re: New Guy
Dwelcome from nor cal. That's a rare color combo but it looks awesome. Consider keeping it. Just my own 2 cents.

Re: New Guy
Did these trucks come with cruise control? There's a box on the drivers inner fender with a vacuum line and cables coming out?

Re: New Guy
Love that color combo
Is the spid intact? There was factory cruise and I wouldn't doubt that a truck that my guess was ordered specifically by an individual because of the color combo could or would have come with cruise |

Re: New Guy
HEY! That's a Highlander "A" pkg truck (YG6)!! Welcome. Still got the plaid? (look under the aftermarket seat cover) For what it's worth - that color combo you have would look AWESOME with the original avocado plaid (that's the 613 in your 'custom trim' RPO (last option on the SPID).
EDIT: Cruise pretty rare - most were dealer or owner add-ons. Last edited by jocko; 11-15-2015 at 12:00 AM. |

Re: New Guy
Here's what your interior would have looked like new (picture yellow instead of white roof). Gotta tell ya, it sounds like you're up for doing some major work on this truck (air-ride, etc), and if that's the case, it would be a wonderful truck to restore to bone stock. Member Truckseats (Tim) can whip up the correct seat cover for you. (My apologies, as you can tell, I'm a little partial to highlanders...)

Re: New Guy
Found out today it's black, doesn't even have the right bench seat in it. Only 2 bolts holding the whole bench seat in

Re: New Guy
You can fix that! Don't worry - most plaid seats have not stood the test of time, they weren't common, and nobody reproduced them for years (until recently) - and a JC Whitney cover made it onto many a bench. So, doesn't really matter if it's black, not many survived anyway. But the SPID does matter - proof positive you have a special truck. It even calls itself that on the SPID ('special promotional'!)
